Jan Ekselius (born 1946) is a prominent Swedish furniture designer known for his innovative contributions to contemporary design. He gained fame for creating the Etcetera lounge chair in 1970, which was manufactured by the family company JOC. This chair, celebrated for its playful and ergonomic forms, exemplifies his unique approach to blending comfort with aesthetic appeal. After studying industrial design at the Royal College of Art in London, Ekselius founded his own design studio in 1984, focusing primarily on furniture for public spaces.
